About Us

A Rich and Abiding Heritage

From before 1837  when the congregation was worshipping in a log structure, to the present day Ebenezer United Methodist Church has had a rich and abiding heritage.  It has been a heritage of of service and progress under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

The present structure, dedicated in 1860 was moved to it present location just before the end of the Spanish-American War, 1899.

With vision and commitment, the congregation forged ahead in its ministries of service with the provision of new new facilities.  In 1929, the church was remodeled and in 1958 the church's educational needs led to the building of the present educational wing of the church.

During the months of October 1984 through March 1985, the newly renovated sanctuary was consecrated and on February 1, 1987, it was dedicated by Bishop L Bevel Jones, III.

With a rich and abiding history, members of the church have continued to place Christ first in the day to day ministries.

The Ministries of the Church

Ebenezer Untied Methodist Church continues to engage in a variety of ministries within the bounds of the congregation, in the community, and throughout the world.  Our Annual Conference giving enables us to support the ministries of the Word and Healing around the world.  Beyond our Annual Conference giving, our people have been involved  in direct missionary support in remote areas of Africa, and second mile giving  has enabled us to aid in ministries to the elderly and to children.  Hunger appeals have always met with a ready and compassionate response among our congregation

Several organizations help nurture the membership and offer areas of service to our people.
